The Shelby County Showcase of Bands, originally scheduled for September 18, 2007 at Shelby County High School, has been re-scheduled for September 25, 2007 because of graduation exams.

Shelia will be looking for volunteers for the WalMart Band-a-Thon on September 15, 2007. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in a band activity. Adults are needed to sell baked goods, shaved ice, set-up, and chaperone. Go ahead and contact Shelia if you can donate a few hours. Her phone number is 678-0658.

It's That Time

Our first yearly Band Booster Meeting will be on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 7:00pm in the Band Room. Please tell your friends and acquaintances with kids in the band ,as I do not have everyone's email addresses yet. If you are a committee chairman, please remember that you need to be present to discuss your area of expertise with other parents. This will be our only meeting prior to 4H Band Camp. So if you have questions, problems, suggestions, or solutions, please bring them with you and we'll have discussion time.

Tina will be on the lookout for chaperones for Band Camp in the coming days. Please try your best to help her out by volunteering to stay with the kids. You don't have to do anything except just "be there."

Please remember to bring all forms from the Band Packet with you to 4H registration, preferably filled out. I have already received several sets from parents wanting to get preferred dates to work the concession stand. The B-team games are filling up fast, so if you want to work on Monday nights instead of Friday nights, you better get them to me first.

If any of you need some information passed along to other Band parents, let me know and I will be glad to do that for you. I should have everyone's email address after 4H registration. Until next time.....
